Seeking to undo nearly every Obama administration legacy, Trump came into office calling it the "worst deal ever. The nuclear deal and lifting of punishing nuclear related international sanctions created optimism in Iran after years of economic isolation. However, even before Trump pulled the US out of the deal, Tehran blamed the US for holding back international investment and not fulfilling its end of the bargain due to the uncertainty created by Trump's threats.
The Israeli leader repeatedly slammed the deal despite his own military and intelligence chiefs' assessment the that JCPOA, while not perfect, was working and should be maintained. Saudi Arabia and the UAE are the other main opponents of the nuclear deal. The EU-3 Britain, France, Germany have scrambled to ensure that Iran receives the economic benefits it was promised in order to avoid Tehran pulling out of the deal.
This would likely be a present to Chinese and Russian businesses. Any EU-wide action would need to be agreed by all member states. The Kremlin said there were no alternatives to the Iran nuclear deal at present, and denounced "unreasonable pressure" that caused Tehran to suspend some of its commitments.
Russia would work with European countries to maintain the "continued viability" of the deal, Peskov said. Russian Foriegn Minister Sergei Lavrov said European signatories should fulfil their obligations under the pact. US President Trump signed an executive order on August 5 aimed at piling financial pressure on Tehran to force a "comprehensive and lasting solution" to Iranian threats, including its development of missiles and regional "malign" activities. Trump warned that those who don't wind down their economic ties to Iran "risk severe consequences.
The first phase, which took effect on August 7, targets the Islamic Republic's access to US banknotes, making transactions in a US-dollar dominated financial world difficult. A ban on Iran purchasing precious metals including gold further serves as an attempt to cut the country off from global markets. Phase one also hits key industries including the purchase of commercial planes, cars and carpets.
Iranian imports of graphite, aluminum, steel, coal, gold and some software are also affected. German automaker Daimler called off the production and sale of Mercedes-Benz trucks in Iran indefinitely after the sanctions came into force. A second phase of sanctions — which is due to take effect on November 5 and will block Iran's oil sales — is due to cause more damage.

Several countries, however, including China, India and Turkey have indicated they are not willing to entirely cut their Iranian energy purchases. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the United States had launched "psychological warfare" against Iran to create division amongst its people. But he insisted that Iran still can rely on its allies China and Russia to keep its oil and banking sectors afloat. He has also demanded compensation for decades of American "intervention" in the Islamic Republic. European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said the bloc is encouraging small and medium enterprises to increase their business with Iran.
She said Tehran has been compliant with their nuclear-related commitments. The EU issued a "blocking statute" to protect European businesses from the impact of the sanctions. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by reiterating a long-held position — that his country would not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weaponry.
We will continue to fight those who would kill us. Iranian state media says Tehran has sent letters reducing its commitments under the terms of the nuclear deal. Iran was said to be placing the blame on some signatories that it said had capitulated to US pressure. DW takes a look at this influential force known as the "Guardians of the Islamic Revolution.
The White House said the decision was intended "to bring Iran's oil exports to zero. Iran has informed the UN that it plans to increase uranium enrichment within the limits of its deal with world powers. The decision comes as uncertainty about the future of the landmark nuclear deal grows.
A year after Donald Trump pulled the US from the international nuclear accord with Iran, the Middle East nation announced it would no longer adhere to some "voluntary commitments" in the accord. The first phase of US sanctions against Iran went back into effect in early August. Here's a breakdown of what the sanctions are targeting and how Iran has reacted to the measures. Tehran says it is raising its enrichment of uranium beyond the limit stipulated in the nuclear deal with world powers.
The EU has urged Iran to reverse the decision and says it is debating the next steps. European signatories to the Iran nuclear deal have urged Tehran to stop enriching and stockpiling uranium. After the US pulled out of the accord, Iran has said it will continue enrichment until sanctions are lifted. Iran has begun enriching uranium and has said a third deliberate violation of the nuclear deal could come. It has called on the other signatories of the deal to find ways around US sanctions. And take a seat in our classic Europa model, which this year celebrates its fortieth anniversary. Read more Designer Helmuth Starke and engineer Erich Zschocke developed the shell of the Europa in and one year later it went into mass production. To celebrate its anniversary, we've given this classic design a fresh twist and added two new versions to the range in felt and moulded wood.
This innovative design with its plastic or wooden shell has been specially developed for schools and colleges. Made of good quality, hard-wearing materials, it allows you to introduce an integrated seating design concept in a range of sizes and materials into your educational establishment.
We are the only manufacturer in Germany to offer both wood and plastic parts, so we can choose the right material to meet your needs and come up with variations within a product line. All our customers receive a bespoke and personalized service. Expert and committed staff, together with a process of continuous improvement, are your guarantee of quality at the highest level. And of course, if you have your own individual requirements, we'll be happy to meet those too.
We produce these veneers ourselves on our cutting lines. With its combination of strength and flexibility, beech has the perfect qualities for this purpose. Beech is in plentiful supply and is always sourced by us from sustainably managed, regional and mostly FSC-certified forests. Short transport routes ensure the material remains cost-effective and also result in an exemplary carbon footprint for our products.
Quality veneer Top layers of sliced veneer are used by us for various purposes. The choice is almost endless, from oak or maple to ash, cherrywood or walnut. Each customer gets to determine the specification of their product as regards strength, imagery and surface treatment stain, varnish or oil.
Surface materials Attractive visual effects, durability and scratchproof surfaces can all be achieved through the use of cosmetic coating materials. The resulting moulded parts and cladding sheets are particularly suitable for outdoor use. Our cutting lines produce veneers in thicknesses of 0. Depending on the use to which the product will be put, our presses are heated by steam, electricity or high frequency electricity. We have a total of 68 single-daylight and multi-daylight presses, among them lateral presses. We work with 11 CNC-controlled processing machines, where we control up to five axes at once from 48 workplaces.
Quality We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to defects. Quality increases cost-effectiveness, reduces costs and ensures competitiveness. It is not just the defects themselves that have to be addressed, but their causes. Prevention is better than cure. Wooden moulded parts are made from natural material, which is always subject to variation in quality. As components of furniture systems, our products are subject to downward pressures on price as well as exacting demands in terms of tolerance, surface quality and texture. We reconcile these seemingly conflicting demands by talking to our customers in detail in the early stages of a project and agreeing with them what the options are.
Processing Once CNC processing is complete, we carry out a range of processes, from sanding and assembly to the creation of the finished, installation-ready product. These processes are carried out by hand at our Hungarian plant by highly experienced craftsmen. Surfaces We also offer surface processing for moulded parts. Using the latest facilities, we can offer staining, varnishing or oiling. The material that has the right properties for the injection-moulded component is chosen by us at the development stage.
Additives such as talcum powder, fibreglass and glass beads are used to enhance our products' technical and visual properties. Other modifications such as UV stabilisers, flame retardants and antistatic treatments can be used to make the components suitable for specific uses.
All our plastic components are fully recyclable, with recycling information and a description of the material printed on all moulded parts. Colours As we procure most of our plastics raw materials in their natural colours and then colour them ourselves, we can provide a wide range of colours, even for relatively small production batches. We currently offer over colours. Capacity Our technical facilities include injection-moulding machines with clamping facilities ranging from to 1, tonnes. This is where we produce moulded parts from 20g to 8kg using up to three separate components in one process.
Every year we process over 1, tonnes of plastic. Our core skill is in producing 'bowed' speaker casings comprising moulded wood components. But we also make simpler rectangular casings using MDF sheets. For the outer surface we use sliced veneer made from a range of wood varieties. Capacity Our machines and facilities are geared up for large-scale production.
As a basic principle, the greater the production volume, the more economically we can produce it. But small production runs can also be achieved. Regular repeated commissions help to make the process more efficient. Working with you, we will work out the design details to achieve maximum manufacturing efficiency. We can also produce prototypes should you require them. It is not just the defects themselves that must be addressed, but their causes. Wooden moulded parts are made from a natural material, which is always subject to variation in quality.
As components of loudspeaker casings, our products are subject to downward pressures on price as well as exacting demands in terms of tolerance, surface quality and texture. Processing The latest CNC-controlled processing facilities and highly skilled staff guarantee maximum precision in parts processing and assembly, both of which are essential for adhering to strict tolerance specifications.
Surface Colour, finish and texture are the main properties to consider for the surface. Experienced staff and modern facilities ensure your specifications are met. The thermal tempering weatherproofs the beech veneer, which can then be used outside as a cladding material, for example. In order to meet periods of peak demand and short lead times, we keep a consignment of standard panels in stock. We also have 37 presses for producing moulded components using the Thermoformholz process, and 11 CNC-controlled centres for further processing.
Thermoformholz parts are made from a natural material, which is always subject to variation in quality. As components for cladding and furniture, our products are subject to exacting demands in terms of tolerance, surface quality and texture. Processing Thermoformholz wood can be worked like beech plywood.
Once CNC processing is complete, we carry out a range of processes, from sanding and assembly to the creation of the finished, installation-ready product. These hand-crafted processes are carried out at our Hungarian plant by highly experienced craftsmen. Surface The thermally treated veneers used for the manufacture of moulded components are impregnated with melamine resin. When the veneers are pressed, the melamine hardens and creates a resistant coating. Thanks to this sealing process, further surface treatment is not required.
As for cladding elements, they are produced without the use of melamine coating so that they can later be coloured as required. For this process, we can provide a non-film-forming coating for external use. Architect: Ulf Bukor. We can provide you with the platform you need to develop new moulded components and assembly parts, on time and to demanding technical specifications.
We can guide you through every step of the development process. Our in-house design studio will bring your designs to life, come up with new ideas and assist with construction and prototype development, for which we have a standard range of samples available. Design digitalisation and prototype development are just some of the solutions we provide. Our aim is the optimal implementation of your ideas and the creation of ergonomically perfect prototypes within the shortest of timeframes. We have many well-known designers among our customers and many successful products have been developed as a result.
We develop individual solutions and will help you choose the right material. Our own-manufacture press tools can be based on your data and are milled on our five-axis CNC machines from aluminium or wood. So trial batches can be produced quickly and adjusted later. In the manufacture of plastic injection moulding tools, you can benefit from our design and construction industry contacts, prototype manufacturers and specialist toolmakers. We work with some of Germany's most experienced tool manufacturers. We are particularly experienced in the production of large moulded components that are especially challenging from both a visual and technical standpoint — e.
With our rigorous, precision-driven manufacturing approach, we are always confident of doing justice to the special requirements of structural components and the integration of couplings and connectors. For us, the preservation of the environment and the struggle against climate change are responsibilities we take seriously on the personal level as well as on the commercial one.
As a family business, we are determined to meet our commitment to future generations. Wood and wood-based materials For the manufacture of our high-quality wooden moulded parts, we use exclusively local beech from sustainably managed forests in Germany and Hungary. With our localised procurement strategy, we avoid high transport costs and reduce our fuel dependency. All our plastics are fully labelled for sorting and separation purposes. The plastics we use conform to PAH polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons limits.
Energy To improve heat retention, our manufacturing facilities are equipped with the latest building technology. In order to reduce our energy usage, all our equipment injection moulding machines, presses and CNC processing centres has been selected on energy efficiency criteria. And to embed environmental awareness in our thinking, we provide regular management and manufacturing training for staff.
Combined heat and power CHP In our heat-operated cogeneration system, we burn the by-products from our wood manufacturing operations as well as old wood from certified recycling companies. This enables us to create not just energy for production and our own heating needs, but to use the renewable source of wood to create electricity.
Because the heat generated is used directly on site, the efficiency factor is more than double that of the traditional combination of local heating and taking electricity from the grid. The facility is capable of producing KW of energy and up to 4. The installation has been producing solar power now for over five years. The annual output of around , kWh would meet the energy needs of 33 four-person households.
Our environmental goals We are continually on the look-out for new solutions for reducing emissions, waste and in particular the consumption of resources. It is our values, and the obligation to secure the future of the company for future generations, that ensure our strategy is focused on the long term. We aim to balance innovation with continuity. We seek to create solid, reliable partnerships in everything we do. Our goal is to produce cost-effective products and services that not only meet but exceed our customers' expectations.
And of course we want to make a profit. As the basis for our future development, our invested capital has to provide an appropriate return. To the manufacture of moulded parts he now adds plywood sheets. Second World War Due to army conscription, production plummets.
Manufacturing concentrates on wooden stools and munitions caskets. French prisoners of war are kept at the site and left to fend for themselves — the stools are used to barter for food, cigarettes and other essential items. The plant is now staffed by unprecedented numbers of women and French prisoners of war. Production picks up again but the site at Bischofsheim proves to be too small.
In , the Bavarian town of XXXX am Main sees the opportunity to have a growing wood-processing business on its doorstep and offers up a potential site on Rodenbacher Strasse. The company is employing around staff. Logs are delivered by road and rail. They are laid in steam pits and then stripped by husking machines in the metre long main production hall. The pressing room contains eight hydraulic presses. The wood is surface-treated via a lacquering process and the production cycle finishes in the warehouse and despatch site.
An area is set aside for special wood processing. Electricity is generated by the factory's own heat and power generator. And the heart of the entire operation is the machinery halls and workshops. The workforce numbers over Like the rest of Bavarian industry, the business enjoys continuous growth. A significant factor is the integration or large numbers of people known as Heimatvertriebene, or Germans expelled from other areas of Europe after the war.
In Bavaria, this group numbers 1. The wood processing industry in Bavaria employs 46, people, of whom 20, are Heimatvertriebene source: Bavarian Office for Statistics. His visionary enterprise is recognised nationwide. The company now employs a total of people. At the end of , the company suffers two devastating blows.
Oskar XXXXX dies in a road accident and just a few weeks later his son and potential successor Richard also dies in an accident. Having worked in the family business since she was 17, she quickly became her father's right-hand woman, her brother Richard being still too young for that role. Now, at the age of 31, and following her father's sudden death, she becomes the managing director of a company with a workforce of Born in in Kaiserslautern, Germany, Erich spent six years as a French prisoner of war. Graduating in from the wood engineering faculty at the University of Applied Sciences Rosenheim, and later studying business at the University of Mannheim, he soon began gaining commercial management experience, moving to XXXX in In Erich, Tilly finds not just a husband but a colleague with whom she can grow the business.
Special machinery for thermoplastics starts to produce chair seats and backs for garden furniture and large-capacity venues. The company continues to grow and now employs staff. There is huge growth in the demand for plastic products. The company invests in high-capacity injection moulding machinery. XXXX leads the way — its 12 metre long plastics injection moulding machine, the largest in Germany, enables the production of items up to 14kg in weight.
The company's seating range is enhanced and exported worldwide. A ceremony is held at the XXXX guildhall and attended by political and business figures as well as managers and staff of the company. To mark its anniversary, the company presents the city of XXXX with steel rod chairs in red, green and orange plastic as a gift for the city's pedestrianised zone. At this milestone in its history, the company looks well set to face the future. The investment is a sign that demand for moulded wood components is as strong as ever. In order to limit the impact on the environment, a new flue gas filter is fitted and, the following year, a new dust filter.
Weighing 20 tonnes and the size of detached house, it represents an investment of , deutschmarks. By , the company is producing four million seating components a year and processing 13,m3 of locally sourced wood up from 8, just one year previously. The workforce has increased by 49 to Awareness of environmental issues is increasing while legal emissions limits are tightening.
The company invests over , deutschmarks in a new furnace for burning off wood waste. Plastic waste is recycled back into production. After various roles in the furniture, materials and building components industries, in he becomes technical managing director of XXXX. A workforce of underpins the company's success. Still keeping a watchful eye, managing directors Erich and Tilly XXXXX turn 70 and 65 years old respectively in and can look back on their life's work with pride.
Andrea and Isabel work in management and data processing respectively. Founded by the local forestry management commission, the Hungarian company produces high-quality rotary-cut veneers and beech veneer sheets. In , a new production hangar is commissioned. In addition to his role as technical managing director in XXXX, he also becomes general managing director of the Hungarian operation.
Andrea, 31, is appointed to a managerial role while Isabel, 32, becomes company secretary. Isabel, meanwhile, began her career as a translator in the export department of Mannesmann Rexroth. A new logo symbolises the start of new era. XXXX launches a competition for new chair designs. Numerous students from a wide range of colleges submit their entries. The workforce numbers The new product is expected to be warp-resistant with reduced static strength and hardness, brittleness and improved mould resistance as developed by the Bavarian government's technology programme.
Dual-part moulded components With its two-part design, the shell is on the one hand pleasantly giving and, on the other hand, thanks to the high proportion of fibreglass in its core materials, extremely strong. This results in significantly increased technical and design possibilities. The material can be used for virtually anything. Workforce numbers Our new three-part machine now allows us to produce two-tone moulded components. Workforce: In principle you can order a sample to act as a prototype, provided we have the item in stock.
Samples can be delivered quickly and at cost price. Our product overview will show you our entire product range and the variety of options available. It also features moulded parts made with tools operated by some of our customers, which are available subject to the customer's approval. What pressing systems do you operate?
We operate three different pressing systems. Our high-frequency system uses wooden tools with a wooden mould lined with aluminium plates. The heat necessary for gluing is generated in the join itself by an alternating current. The machine itself is not heated. Electric heat: wooden mould tools with electric heating plates are used. Steam-heated machines: solid aluminium tools are heated indirectly on steam-heated presses. What is an aluminium mould tool? In an aluminium mould tool, the two halves of the mould are made from one aluminium block.
The two halves of the tool are mounted on steam-heated presses and heated from below or from above. Aluminium tools are used when high degrees of morphing and precision are required. What is a wooden mould tool? In a wooden mould tool, the two halves of the mould are made from one plywood block and then layered with an electrically heated aluminium plate. How much does a pressing machine cost? The price depends on type, size and the complexity of the component to be moulded. We manufacture the tools ourselves very cost-effectively and specifically for use in the three systems described above.
What are the lead times for a wooden moulded part? Once we have allowed for our production process, veneer manufacture, pressing, the subsequent processing and the design aspects specific to your particular order, we estimate a lead time of around four to six weeks. What are your minimum order volumes? The minimum viable order is generally pieces, but smaller quantities can be negotiated on an individual basis. What coatings are available?
To protect the wood surface, parts need to be lacquered with either an opaque or transparent water-based varnish. Alternatively a veneer can be oiled or waxed. Do you offer moulded parts that come already lacquered or ready-made?
We can provide both pre-lacquered and ready-to-use components. What is manufacturing tolerance? Manufacturing tolerance describes the amount by which the measurements of a moulded component can deviate from the design due to machining processes such as milling, drilling, sanding and the use of fastening systems. It is usually very low and can be measured in tenths of millimetres.
What is form tolerance? Form tolerance arises during changes in the ambient conditions, particularly moisture. Angles can change and flat surfaces can warp. To avoid this, form tolerance must be factored in at design and manufacturing stages. Before husking, the logs have to be made sufficiently supple. This can be done with steam. To that end, the logs are placed in special pits for two days where they are treated with hot water or steam.
Can veneers also be pressed? As sliced veneers, maple, cherrywood, oak, walnut and many other types of wood respond well to pressing. They are often used for surface layers, with beech rotary veneer being used for the interior layers. Can you combine wood with other materials to make moulded parts?
The wood for moulded parts can be pressed with laminates HPL, CPL , decor paper, primer foil and other similar materials. What are the maximum dimensions for moulded parts? We can make veneers up to 2. The width is limited by the size of the presses, which is 1. What is the smallest radius you can make? The radius is determined by the strength of the veneer and of the moulded part. For a moulded part with a thickness of 10mm made from 1. As a rule of thumb, the radius needs to be at least 2.
How long does it take to press a moulded part? In order to ensure the glue takes and the moulded form holds, the component has to be subjected to sufficient pressure and heat in the press. The following rule is applied: the thickness of the component divided by two provides the heating time in minutes. To that must be added one to four minutes of adhesion time, depending on the adhesive used.
Can XXXX make prototypes? Thanks to our many years' experience of producing prototypes for wood and plastic moulded parts, we can produce a rang of models, often with short lead times. Our in-house design studio, staffed by specialist wood and plastics engineers and modelmakers, is where we produce prototypes, samples, tools and other equipment. As a supplier, why does XXXX have to involved early on in the development process? Experience has shown that the decisions taken at the start of a project with regards to process, design and material determine the cost of the end product.
Our specialist staff and trained engineers are on hand to help you decide whether the moulded part should be made of wood, plastic or a combination of different materials. They will also help you achieve the optimum price-performance ratio. Which drawing formats can the XXXX production department work with? We can work with all the usual file formats.
Why do you use rotary-cut beech veneer? Beech has a good price-performance ratio, is relatively strong and is extremely easy to shape and work with. Rotary-cut veneers are much more economical to produce than sliced veneers. Can you produce moulded wooden parts that are non-flammable?
Moulded parts can be treated to be non-flammable. Tests have shown that simply maximising thickness of the part can increase flame resistance. But we can use a special salting process to make parts non-flammable as well. What is the difference between laminated wood and plywood?
