Getting ready for the next book in the series to be released tomorrow, I went back and listen to this story again. It was just as good the second time around as the first. I really enjoy this series! I read some of the other reviews and agree this series does remind me of JR Ward's BDB books; however, there are enough difference so you do not feel like it is a copycat. If you enjoy the BDB's books, you will like this series! Four thumbs up! I've been following the Dragonfury Series from the beginning, and I would suggest you do the same. Given I know the history, it's hard to judge if this book would stand alone or not, but I'm guessing not.

The books in this series have a very heavy story line arc that continues from book to book.

See a Problem?

Wick is a loose cannon, and I have a "thing" for the loose cannon heroes. Badder than bad boys, this type is truly on the edge. Every paranormal series seems to have a loose cannon in the mix, and they're always my favorite. Not sure what that says about me, but it gave me rather high expectations for this book, and Coreene almost delivered a home run. Almost, but not quite. In the previous book, we learned of JJ's existence when her sister hooked up with Mac, another of the Nightfury dragon pack. In this book, we learn Wick's back story, his inability to stand another's touch and why he and Venom are so tight.

The pairing of JJ and Wick brings two damaged souls together for a big old helping of loving and healing. My only complaint is that I felt this book didn't dedicate as much time to Wick and JJ's relationship as the other books did to their main pairing. Or maybe I just wanted more. At any rate, that brought an otherwise 5 star read down to a 4 star one. Mr Darcie is a very good narrator, but some of his male voices are a bit soft for me, including Wicks.

Again, 4 rather than 5. Those are only minor quibbles. It's a series I'd highly recommend to lovers of this genre. Another dragon finds his mate. This series is the dragon equivalent of Ward's BDB series.

Fury of Desire (Dragonfury Series #4)

Just as solid, sexy and full of action. The alpha males -done so well by the narrator- made me swoon, and the women are strong heroines. The overall story arc will make you want to read each book in the series which I absolutely recommend. I always enjoy a happy ending! It's a great cold winter day read, fantasy snd romance, just simply entertaining. Love the night furriers bastian is my dream dragon. The sex scenes are so hot!!! Yum yum!!! Wick is my kind of guy.

Want it, take it!! I anticipated Wick's story but learned very little. This listen was just more of the same with little new knowledge. I felt Wick had a great background story to explore but it was touched on just a little. I felt like the author was in a hurry to get it over with.

It will take a 5 star review for me to continue on with the series. I think that this is the third book I have ever read from this author, and I never cease to be disappointed. The rest is talking about third parties, enemies, politics etc. I can't deal with it, and I know that it will be no different from book 1. Bought this on a discount sale and I want my money back. This is an outstanding series and hopefully it is a long way from being finished.

I have listened and listened to the four books - so far - and never tired of the character portrayals and repoire between the characters. It is one of three series I have listened to that I never take off my ipod. Outstanding and thanks Coreene - just love your story telling. If you have been following my reviews you know I have had luke warm feelings about this series. Book one was okay, book 2 not so great, book 3 was awesome, and this being book four is landing in the better than okay but not awesome category. This is the story of Wick and JJ. JJ is Tanya's little sister and she has been in jail for 5 years.

I think the author could have played with this relationship a bit more, had some more touching scenes rather than hey I know we haven't even kissed yet but since we are energy fused and all let's just jump into bed. I like the back story, the world emerging is pretty cool, and I'm interested to see where all this is heading. Narrator still needs work.. I'm dreading Venom's story because his voice is SOOO immature and teenager like, but Wick's voice was a bit better this go around. I love, love, love this series. Wick is one of my favorite Nightfury dragons, so I was excited to read his story.

Goggle Giggle Hangout with Author Coreene Callahan

When his back story was finally revealed the relationship between Wick and Venom become so much clearer. With the explanation of his background, I understand Wick and love him that much more. I like JJ too. She offers the right amount of vulnerability and strength to be the female for Wick. This book offers a good blend of action, romance, and suspense. The book also answers a couple of questions that were presented in previous books and left some unopened questions, a good set up for the next book in the series. Be prepared for a WHAT!! Although each book is on a different member of the Nightfury pack, reading them in order gives you a better understanding of the series, the characters and the world the author draws the reader into.

Worth a credit, umm YEAH!! But at the price, just buy it and save the credit for another day. Wick is an emotionally scared warrior. J is a feisty female. Together they make the cutest couple. Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not? It was worth listening to well ploughing through only to get the onward going circumstances for the next book. What was your reaction to the ending? No spoilers please!
